Invite deeper learner interaction by including discussion questions in your course. It's a great way to build a sense of community and collaboration in an online learning environment.

Adding a Discussion Prompt

Add discussion prompts to promote collaboration between learners. Choose the '+ Discussion' content block. Create the discussion prompt and determine the number of required replies for learners.

  • By default the required number of replies is set to 1 but this can be increased or decreased.

The question will not be marked complete until learners submit their initial response and replies to however many required replies were set by the instructor.

You can also assign a point value, attach audio, or add a rubric to any discussion activity. Use the options found at the end of the content's title bar. Discussion activities will need to be reviewed and graded by the instructor(s).

Learners will not to be able to see others responses until they submit theirs. This helps ensure learners are doing their own thinking
