TABLE OF CONTENTS

You can use the Google Drive content block to add an activity, embed a resource, or create a presentation directly into the course from your Google Drive. When you update your google file, it will automatically update in your courses too!

Adding Google Drive Content

Embed content directly from your Google Drive. When adding Google Drive content make sure the share settings are set to anyone with the link can access.

  • Select the '+ G Drive Content'.
  • Choose between adding an activity, embedding a resource, or creating a presentation.

Adding an Activity

When adding Google Drive content as an activity, you will be creating a copy of the Google Drive file for each learner that they will edit and submit in the course.

  • You will be prompted to sign in with your Google account, select the file, choose to make the activity individual or collaborative, and select 'Save'.

  • Choose to make the activity individual or collaborative.
    • Individual activities will make a copy for each learner to complete and submit.
      • This is a simple way to provide an outline to each learner.
    • Collaborative activities will make one copy of the activity for all learners in the course to edit and add comments on the same document.
      • This is great to use as a sign in sheet or group activity.

Embedding a Resource

Choose any file from your Google Drive to embed for learners.

  • The file will embed directly. This is especially useful for distributing files because learners will be able to download them from the course.

Creating a Presentation

Create a new Google Slides presentation from inside of Canopy.

  • Use the tools within Google Slides to build your presentation. The presentation will embed directly and save a copy to your Drive.
  • This will also create a Canopy folder in your Drive and save the presentation there.
