After creating a subgroup, you can assign relevant content for learners in the subgroup. When activities are assigned to a specific subgroup, only learners in that subgroup will see the assigned activities.

Assign Activities to a Subgroup

Before assigning an activity to a subgroup, create the subgroup

You can easily assign activities to a specific subgroup using the 'All learners' drop down found in the content building blocks.

  • Create the activities using the lesson content builder. Before saving the content block use the 'All learners' drop down option to assign the activity to a subgroup. Select 'Save' to save the activity and subgroup assignment. Only learners in the selected subgroup will be assigned the activity.

Assigning activities to a subgroup is a great way to house multiple versions of an activity within one course. Easily create different versions of an activity and use subgroups assign groups of students specific activities.

Subgroups can also be leveraged to allow learners multiple attempts on a different versions of an activity

  • For example if a group of learners do not demonstrate mastery on a quiz, you are able to use subgroups to assign a different version of the quiz to the specific group of learners who can attempt the quiz again.

Activities assigned to All learners will appear in the course for all enrolled learners. Activities assigned to a subgroup will only appear in the course for learners who are assigned to that subgroup.
